More support for the Bremhill project

The Calne Area Board has generously given a further boost to the project to research and write up the history of the Bremhill Parish. It has awarded £5000 for an interactive web site dedicated to the project, with the priority of engaging with the local community, and everyone interested in the work. The grant will also provide for a mobile display stand to help bring the project and its findings to the several villages within the parish.

Though Bremhill is nowadays in the Calne community area, it was for a long time part of the old Chippenham Hundred, the local government area of its time, dating back to the Domesday Book.  The Victoria County History series works with the Hundred boundaries, which is why Bremhill's history will be included in  the Chippenham 'Red Book' and other outputs. And why the Wiltshire VCH is a partner in the project and you find this information on the My Chippenham site.

When the new Bremhill project web site is up and running, it will be  the main source of its news and publications, but we will provide links from here and share the main headlines too.
