Vicky Landell Mills

Vicky is a graduate of the London School of Economics and has been a social worker in London and in Wiltshire. She was Chair of the Trust from its launch in 2014 till October 2018.

She joined the original Wiltshire VCH committee when she was elected to Wiltshire County Council in 1989. At that time the VCH was fully funded by the Local Authorities and had three full time historians working on the project. When Local Authority funding began to look uncertain she was involved in setting up the Appeal Trust.

Although no longer a Wiltshire Councillor, Vicky continued on the committee from 2001 until 2014. At that point both Wiltshire Council and the University of the West of England removed their funding. The choice was either for work on the Wiltshire VCH to stop or to develop the Trust into an independent and fund-raising charity to maintain the Wiltshire VCH.

Vicky contributed to the decision to move forward as a Trust, and was elected as Chair. She retired from that role in October 2018. She has lived in Bradford on Avon for the past 35 years and before that lived in London.
